Please be aware that multiple occurrences of theft have taken place at the Mile 118 parking lot, trail head, and trail easement. Thieves have broken into vehicles; siphoned gas tanks; cut gas lines; stolen trailers; removed batteries, light bars, and other parts and equipment from both vehicles and ATVs; etc. The thievery has occurred numerous times both during daylight and nighttime. Please exercise caution when entering the parking lot and be attentive of strangers. Please secure your belongings and remove them from visibility (although this doesn’t seem to deter them much). Please report all theft to the Alaska State Troopers as they are actively investigating the numerous reports of theft in our parking lot and the surrounding areas.
